check em out... ;) ;) ;) I have a batch of Honesuki I'm working on and just wanted to show off the grind. I'm pretty darn happy with it so far. now to polish it up and get a handle on it. Posted Image 150mm Honesuki (I have 2 in the batch that are 170mm just for fun) hand forged 52100 steel ht'd to 60-61 RC UraSaki ground with a 24"R platen 4mm to 4.5mm thick at the heel with a decent taper to the point, usually down to about 3mm their all 35 to 40mm tall at the heel I'm doing nine because Mark had ordered 5 and single bevel knives tend to bend during HT. and I tend to break knives trying to straighten them. so far all 9 are coming out great I only had two slight curves from HT and they straightened just fine. Posted Image Handles finished up and polished, ready to glue up the blades. Posted Image |
